Try “Name your own price” at priceline. You might get a layover somewhere but if you try offering about half of what other places are charging, the worse that can happen is they say no. If they say no, they might give you an offer (they do with hotels), If not try offering a little bit more, until they accept. I recently paid $158 R/T Philadelphia to LosAngeles that way and the normal price is over $300
