Going to Minneapolis for weekend, what should we do?

We are traveling to Minneapolis for the So You Think You Can Dance concert at the end of October, and we are planning on celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary that weekend as well. We are planning on going to the Walker Art Center, but I am not sure what else we should do. We have done the Mall of America and Uptown, but what other attractions must we see in Minneapolis, or what else would be interesting? We love Artsy things!

Sorry for the delay in getting a few suggestions to you….

The links below will give you TONS of options with a list of museums and tours. Now here is where you could save some money. Here is the Twin Cities, if you show your library card at local libraries you can get a pass to various museums, etc in town–for FREE—-but I don’t know if they take out of town library cards. (4th link.) Places include:

Locations that will donate two free admissions per pass
American Swedish Institute—–a mansion that was a private home
The Bakken Museum
Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary
Firetrucks, Railroads and Streetcars:
Firefighters Hall & Museum
Minnesota Streetcar Museum
Minnesota Transportation Museum
Hennepin History Museum
Historic Fort Snelling
Minnesota History Center
Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Minnesota Zoo
The Landing – Minnesota River Heritage Park
The Museum of Russian Art———————————–VERY good!
The Raptor Center (University of Minnesota)
TRACES Museum Center for History and Culture
Twin City Model Railroad Museum
Walker Art Center
The Works: A Technology Discovery Center

Have fun!
